Death and Rebirth

There once was a Belly Dance Goddess.  She almost died 5 years ago to this day.  Men dreamed about her and women envied her.

A family should have acceptance and family love above all others.  This is the strength bestowed upon us by Leanna, Dolf, Gia, Lance and all of those who have come and passed.

An “interloper” can destroy family love and separate family members from each others.

As innocent as it seems, they may have a different “agenda’ than what Lena and Adolph wanted for their kids.

Gina had an illness that made certain family members “shun” her.

Look in the mirror, my family!

A family is not in a “beauty” pageant.  And those that have not won any beauty pageants are not worthy to judge Gina or anyone else for their beauty, or not “fitting” in due to a stroke of other illness.

Shame on you.  For GOD is watching.

Greek Chili for a Chilly Night

Chili and Pineapple Coconut Rum Cake 085I used to Belly Dance in Greek and Middle Eastern restaurants back in the 80s. My favorite “taste” of Greek food included Gyros (with Feta and Lamb), Kabobs (with Sumac), Tzatziki (with Cucumbers), Hummus (from Garbanzo Beans AKA Chickpeas) and Spanakopita (with Spinach). So why not mix those flavors with my favorite dish: Chili?

My original chili was Beef Chili. My family loved it! It was thick, meaty and spicy! Using a slow cooker, instead of a stock pot, allowed all of the ingredients time to meld together. Next came CMcCormick Fiery Tastyhicken Chili made with Butter Beans, White Kidney Beans, Ground Turkey, Italian Sausage and chopped Polish Sausage.

To save calories, but keep the bold and spicy flavors intact, my next chili creation used Ground Turkey, Italian Sausage, Turkey Polish Sausage and Pork Chorizo. In fact, I liked it better than my “Slap Ya Momma” Beef Chili. None of the flavor was missing. And in fact, it was even spicier by using Diced Tomatoes with Jalapeno and Habanero peppers and the McCormick Tasty Fiery Seasoning Mix of Sriracha, Lime and Garlic!

The chili seasoning can make or break your chili. It makes all of the difference in the world. Back when I first started making chili, I would buy the cheapest chili seasoning. You know the one that is Chili and Pineapple Coconut Rum Cake 003the store brand or 50 cents or less. Then I discovered Williams Chili Seasoning. And I will admit: they are the best. They are the reason why my Chili brings so many compliments.

I have to admit that McCormick Seasonings are stepping up their game. They released the “Tasty” blends, that bump up the flavor using Sriracha, Lime, Garlic, Lemon Zest, Basil, Oregano, etc. I love using the Lemon Zest to season my Tuna and Catfish Nuggets. And when you mix Williams and McCormick together, get ready for a spicy flavor bomb!

Chili and Pineapple Coconut Rum Cake 042I had 3 hours of sleep and my Dishwasher is broken. Which means, I am mixing the meats in the skillet, instead of washing a bowl by hand. I have the slow cooker set for 4 hours, just enough time for a catnap before my Chili dinner on a chilly (19 degree) day!

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Ground Lamb, recommended: Marketside Superior Farms, 2 lb.
  2. Pork Chorizo, recommended: Cacique, 10 ozChili and Pineapple Coconut Rum Cake 040.

  7. Diced Tomatoes with Jalapeno and Habanero, recommended: Del Monte, two 14.5 oz. cans
  8. Diced Tomatoes with Zesty Chili Style, recommended: Del Monte, 14.5 oz.Chili and Pineapple Coconut Rum Cake 046
  9. Jalapeno Peppers, diced, recommended: Great Value, 4 oz.
  10. Chili Seasoning, Tex-Mex style, recommended: Williams, 1 oz.
  11. Chili Seasoning, Original style, recommended: Williams, 1 oz.
  12. Fiery Tasty Seasoning Mix with Sriracha, Lime and Garlic, recommended: McCormick, 1 oz.
  13. Mirepoix with diced Yellow Onion, Carrot and Celery, 8 oz.
  14. Garlic, smashed, 10-11 cloves
  15. Sumac, recommended: Zamouri Spices, ½ teaspoonChili and Pineapple Coconut Rum Cake 052
  16. Cabernet Sauvignon, recommended: Yosemite Road, 1 cup
  17. Balsamic Vinegar, 2-3 teaspoons
  18. Liquid to thin it out, such as Cola, Chicken Broth, Water or Ice Cubes (as needed, depending on how thick or thin you prefer your chili to be), ½ to 1 can.
  19. Plastic Gloves, disposal will do
  20. Slow Cooker Liners, recommended: Reynolds

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Gloves oChili and Pineapple Coconut Rum Cake 083n and ready to cut off the Garlic heads. Add them to the slow cooker liner and smash them with a small bowl.
  2. Mix ground Lamb, Italian Sausage and Pork Chorizo in the skillet and then brown in skillet for about 20 to 25 minutes. Add half of the Wine and Mirepoix. Cook on low for 5 minutes and then drain. I use an empty bean or diced tomato can for the grease.
  3. Drain and rinse beans. I top the beans with a dash of Sumac!
  4. Top the smashed Garlic with the remaining Mirepoix and Spinach. Then add the Tex-Mex Chili seasoning, Wine and Balsamic Vinegar. Chili and Pineapple Coconut Rum Cake 049
  5. Add the Meats and then the Fiery Tasty Seasoning packet.
  6. Add the drained beans and then the Original Chili seasoning
  7. Add the 3 cans of Diced Tomatoes.
  8. Thin out with Liquids, if you want thinner Chili. I used a half can of Cola for a “sweet” touch.
  9. Add the Jalapeno Peppers and Sumac during the last 30 minutes of cook time.
  10. Cook on high 4 hours or low 8 hours, stir halfway through.

Chili and Pineapple Coconut Rum Cake 086I like to top mine with Feta & Cheddar Cheese, Diced Cucumbers, Lime Juice and a dollop of Daisy Sour Cream.

Sneak peek at the Vampire Dancer Saga Part 5, Fan Fiction: In 2017 Slavery never ended

Copyright 2017 Shalimar Ali

In 2017, Slavery never ended

800px-Thomas_Edison2Sallie Cherry is a light-skinned slave in 1890. She has never worked the fields. But kept inside Master’s house to keep her skin light.

This made her more acceptable to do light duties like washing dishes, laundry and tending to her slave master’s children.

Even though slavery ended officially on Dec. 8, 1865, the house niggers and field niggers were not aware that it ended.

Ro’Zha and Drake had travelled back to 1890 to continue their quest to change the outcome of slavery.

They asked each other, how and why a situation like slavery ever came to be?

They looked this situation from the perspective of the Slave Owner and the Slave. How did this come to being?

From the slave master perspective it was 100% win-win. They can play GOD!

BillyBobThorntonHWOFFeb2012cropThis means they can kill any human. Rape any black girl or woman. And to boot, get free labor to build their county?

How and why would a slave go along with this unfair existence?

A simple answer: BRAINWASHING!

This does not mean that the slaves were stupid, ignorant or dumb.

It just means that they were outnumbered and had a language barrier.

It is pretty easy to be brainwashed if you don’t understand the language. And see the white men lynch other blacks on a daily basis. Also rape black girls and women everyday. And kill and torture all blacks.

There was a sense of hopelessness for your survival. If you just simply wanted to live, you had to abide by what the white man said. This form of brainwashing to survive to live, endured, even to the year 2017. Not as subtle as it was in 1890, but a road map to make sure that you lived, even through compliance.

Halle_Berry_by_Gage_SkidmoreSallie Cherry was no different. Even though she was light-skinned, she had been raped by many white men on the plantation and was also beaten.

The slave owner, Bobby Billy, often entertained celebrities like Thomas Edison.

Thomas Edison visited visited Bobby’s plantation in St. Louis, MO. Thomas was there to show off his new movie picture and get entries into his movie contest called the Racso Awards for the best movies.

Even though this award show was pretty new, no slaves had been nominated, except for Pattie Daniels for her role playing the black mammy in the Winds are Gone. Leanna Thorne was a successful actress loved by both blacks and whites. But she insisted that her film roles be successful and truthful to the fact that slavery was over. So she refused to play mammy roles or slave master concubine roles.

Leanna Thorne also refused to allow nudity or sex in any of her movies. So when her movie, the Weather is Stormy was released, there was the utmost respect for her as an actress and for the positive role model she portrayed.

Thomas Edison bragged about how he had so much respect from the movie industry. He said that his movie studio, Gate of the Lion, wanted entries for the Rasco Awards.

Charlize_Theron_Cannes_2015_2Bobby Billy was good friends with two actresses, Thera Charlize and Janet Gaynor. Janet Gaynor was best known for her work in 7th Heaven.

Thera Charlize was interested in getting nominated for a movie similar to Mandingo. Thera wanted to be nude and have sex with a black prison guard. She proposed having Den Wash play her leading man to Gate of the Lion pictures.

Louie Mayer Oscar was outraged. He threatened to lynch Den Wash for even considering having sex with a nude white woman.

He said if Thera ever made that type of movie, she would be tarred and feathered and then lynched like a nigger.

When Sallie heard that Thera was threatened, she volunteered to be nude and have sex with a white man on screen. They forced her to have sex with them anyway, so why not?

Denzel_Washington_croppedShe felt there was nothing wrong with being a slave masters concubine, so why not get paid for it? She was a free slave, so why not be a whore?

So Sallie begged Thomas Edison to film her and Bobby Billy having sex in a film that had a similar plot to Mandingo, but reversed. Then she asked Tom Edison to nominate her for a Rasco award.

The Slaves had a support group called the pecans or PCAAN for short. The PCAAN group was mighty pissed about blacks not being nominated for leading roles for the Rasco awards,

The PCAAN was going to boycott the Rasco awards and made sure Louie Mayer Oscar knew about the boycott.

Louie did not want a boycott. So he devised a plan. Lets make sure those niggers get an award. But the award has to be one where the niggers are degraded.

Lena_Horne_1961So that means that Leanna Thorne will never be nominated. Her films show a positive portrayal of black womanhood.

Thera Charlize and Den Wash went ahead and filmed the movie Mandingo because they thought it might win an award. Before the Rasco ceremony, both actors where found hanging from a tree, lynched.

The reverse of Mandingo was accepted by the Rasco awards and in fact gave Sallie Cherry a Rasco for best lead actress.

Drake and Ro’Zha had snuck into the Award ceremony and watched from the kitchen. Since Sallie could not accept her award.

Sallie gave her Rasco acceptance speech in the kitchen, surrounded by only black slaves, Drake and Ro’Zha.

Janet_Gaynor-publicityRo’Zha interrupted her speech and simply asked why, are you brainwashed?

Election 2016 vote for Drake on the Vampire ticket! Wait! He went back in time and stole it!

Occult Women

Chapter 2 Drake charms the witches

The news was awash with stories of members of the US military suddenly turning on their fellows in a manner similar to the zombies that most people knew from movies and TV. In barracks, in parade fields, in training grounds, and on airfields, groups of moaning, deranged soldiers suddenly grabbed and bit into the remaining “normal” personnel. Public concern was in an uproar of hysteria. TV pundits speculated endlessly on the cause of the outbreaks, how much it was the president’s fault, and what danger the outbreaks posed to the general public. America’s enemies celebrated, and America’s allies quaked with fear, especially just to the north and south in Canada and Mexico.

But Vice President Drake brought good news to his live news conference. He looked as handsome, brave, and sharp as ever, in his black suit and red tie, with his hair neatly combed and gelled. He spoke to the public from an undisclosed location in Hawaii. It was night-time there, and the Vice President stood outside, with many electric lights shining on him and his lectern.

“My fellow Americans,” he began, in his calm, deep, voice, “For the past two days, I have shared your concern, and, I wholly admit, fear, over the recent violence and chaos on our nation’s military bases. Many of our service members, enlisted and officers alike, have fallen victim to whatever infection or mass-psychosis this is. Many more of our brave men and women in uniform have fallen victim to these savage, cannibalistic attacks.” Drake gave a dramatic pause before continuing, knowing he had the nation’s full attention. The President had apparently been trying to keep the matter secret, and had made no public address yet.

Coming soon to Amazon and Audible: The Vampire Dancer Saga Part 4

Long, long ago, back in the days when the world was new and magic ran wild, there existed a kingdom by the name of Kaw. This Kaw was no ordinary kingdom: it was ruled by Queen Leanna, the magical peacock being, who could turn into a human form one time each month, during the full moon. Leanna ruled her kingdom wisely and also took pride in raising her daughter chicks in the proper ways to catch worms. These daughters were unbelievably precious to their mother, and each unique. One of them, Tam, was not a bird but rather a flying scorpion, with a brilliantly shiny shell, a sharp stinger, and fearsome claws. Sherry was a black swan, who was as graceful swimming atop the clear waters of the kingdom as she was soaring through the air. Kandy was a parrot, one of the most clever sorts of birds. And Gia, like her mother, was an elegant and proud peacock, especially blessed with the powers of a witch. The most powerful of Gia’s spells was the one known as Faint of Heart. If Gia’s could touch her flesh to that of someone else, she could use this spell to rob the victim of all convictions, courage, and willpower. Gia quickly became the favorite and most powerful of her mother’s chicks. Her natural talent for magic, combined with her ferocious devotion to learning and mastering it, made her a powerful and seductive witch. She gained the ability to remain in a human form for as long as she wished.

Adam7I will be posting some of my original Dancer Tributes in WordPress, only the early ones that were in Twitter only, not WordPress.  Back when I first starting posting the dancer tributes on Twitter I only had 2 subscribers.  Now that I have more, I realized that a lot of people missed my early dancer tributes.  But as I am reposting those, I will also keep adding new content for topics like Dance Choreography, new Dancer tributes, etc.
